I have labeled these as “Momma's Maple.” My mother had two beautiful Silver Maples in her front yard that were taken down due to utility work being done on her street. I salvaged most of the wood from these trees. "Spalting" is the very first stages of “rot” and maple spalts very easily. If timed properly, you get beautiful spalt lines throughout the wood as you can see.
